Keeping it casual n comfy on a short trip to Srilanka!

Before I get on to discussing fashion, let me brief my trip details. It was a road trip from Colombo till Galle, covering the beautiful villages along the south- west coast of Srilanka.

The weather in the west coast is usually  humid and the temperature stays around 32°C most of the year. So my preference of clothing was something that I could breath in yet look cool and casual.

Galle:- Galle is an old city founded by Portuguese colonists in the 16th century and by the Dutch. The impress of Portuguese, Dutch and British rule is reflected strongly in its architecture. It’s a delight to explore Galle on foot which includes strolling through the streets passing through magnificent churches, contemporary cafes, street n boutique shopping and visiting Galle Fort. It is humid and requires a lot of walking.

Ensemble planned for a day in Galle:

  1. Zara Be Sexy top.
  2. Marks and Spencer’s red linen short.
  3. RayBan club master shades – wood frame special edition.
  4. Clark’s Beige and white Sandals.
  5. Armani Exchange blue and white striped watch.

And here is my outfit with the above ensemble.

Bentota:- Bentota  is a small and beautiful resort town on Colombo-Galle road. Exploring Bentota includes visit to Lunaganga estate designed by the architect Geoffrey Bawa and its Garden tour followed by water sport activities.

Ensemble planned for a day at Bentota:

  1. Superdry Miami tank top with camouflage shorts.
  2. Crocs color block sea foam wedges(Water Proof for all beach and water related activities)
  3. G-Shock Watch.
  4. Versace shades.

And here is my outfit for the day.

Other essentials that you might need to plan:

  1. Airport and Flight attire. ( I would be writing a different post for this later)
  2. Two pairs of Jeans and T-shirt/Top for just in case purposes (2 pairs for a short trip).
  3. Night wear and lingerie ( Make sure you pack few extra as you might get wet often on a beach holiday)
  4. A Sling bag(usually occupies less space) + a backpack  for all your essentials.  30S6GRUB2L-1164_IS
  5. Your Cosmetics+ Makeup + Toiletry kit – Sunscreen is a must + Jewellery/Accessory kit(Do not carry excess, plan for each attire and carry few to-go items). Have everything organised in kits.

Plan your entire ensemble for each day including flight days, travel days and have 2 pairs of jeans and top as extra clothing and you are through for your trip.

This way you could make sure you do not over pack insanely and also you don’t have to waste time thinking on what to wear each day! Spend that precious time exploring your destination. 🙂

Happy Holiday 🙂

Tata!
